Why e-PTFE patches for PDA and VSD occluders?

For PDA and VSD, the pressure difference between the two sides is quite large. The patche material of Conventional occluders are not dense enough to stop the rapid shunt, they expect to do it with clotting. But in some cases, they fail to do that, especially in large sizes of defect. HeartR PDA and VSD occluder with e-PTFE patches can stop the high pressure shunt with its high density. They were found less residual shunt and capable of large size PDA and VSD.
